River
Gunboat ordered from John I Thornycroft
and launched on 6th June 1933. She was the
2nd RN ship to carry this name,
first used for the same type of warship in
1897 and sold in 1920. The ship was
dismantled after build had been completed
and the sections sent to Shanghai
where they were re-assembled. She entered
service in 1934 and joined the Yangtse
Flotilla.

YING
HAO became part of the navy of the Peoples
Republic of China
after 1948 and was service in 1970. The
expansion of the Chinese navy
since then suggests she may have been
withdrawn from use to provide crews for
modern ships.
